Ok anybody had any experience with these 3? im looking to get one of them

they all stack up pretty similar to me

the hp has slightly better specs but my old one was a nightmare and my go is it ugly.

usage is everyday web use, videos, downloads, burning, ripping, playing music (good speakers important), and ocasional gaming although the specs onall three of these will more than suffice for what i have in mind.

And before people start commenting on my choice of retailers, i have no choice, its currys or nothing, and that £900 price bracket is unchangeable in either direction so just comments on these 3 needed thanks
regards josh

If you are happy with specs of all of them and good speakers built in are a must (you can always buy external speakers if you wish?) then I would suggest a trip to Currys/PC World to try them out and hear the sound quality as the way the machine works i.e. feel of keyboard and trackpad and the look of the screen etc is a very personal thing.

You can rule the hp one out, it's weighs a tonne and overheats, their customer service is hideous - don't expect it to last more than a year. Avoid HP if you can.

oh if only i had you a year ago.

your point is exactly why im in this situation, my old hp had horrible issues with the screen, liked to overheat and was heavy and clunky.

it was sent in for repair and has been written off so i have vouchers, thats why i have to buy from currys and that is my budget.

know anything about the other two, personally im thinking the siny, looks better and on paper is better but dont know how reliable they are.

You said the £900 budget is unchangble? Does that mean you have to spend £900 on one laptop? If not then I would get one laptop in the £600 range and also a good netbook for about £300ish. This will give you a lot of options especially if like one of them dies you have a backup. Having a netbook also means you have an ultraportable laptop as well. Keep you second one at home for the heavy media stuff and gaming.

Or you could buy a laptop for £x and use the balance for something else in Currys? Is this an option?

    Just my 2p! HTH!

haha good suggestion i can spend the money on what i want up to £600 but if i get a replacement laptop, they have to provide me one with certain feature which are in the £900 range so ill stick with one laptop thanks (its all rather complicated so just take it as £900 for one laptop), i want a high end, bluetooth, hdmi and a 320gb hard drive(at least) are a must for me, plus i like big screens, it doesnt move alot but on the other hand it moves enough so that a desktop would be annoying for me!

so yeh i have vouchers to get a laptop for £900 from currys, i would be prepared to put an extra £100 in if its necessary but i havnt seen anything on their site that would convince me to so yeh sony or dell?.... which is more reliable etc
