Refund of Valuation

We had a mortgage agreement with the Post Office and I paid £240 for the valuation which was carried out. I've now been informed there is a problem with my application and they will not progress my application. They stated as the valuation has been carried out and paid for they cannot refund my money, is there anyway I can get my money back?:mad:

Not an expert, but I guess it depends on exactly what the 'problem with the application' is - if it's something that should have been checked by the PO before the valuation was allowed to go ahead, then I would have thought you had a case.0
