How do you pick an EA?

Options
Right, have had 3 valuations done today. One was incredibly low and the woman was really rude and 20 mins late (which is a big pet hate of mine) so have discounted her.

The other two - well the fees are more or less the same. They were both friendly enough and the number of offices/advertising etc are all the samel. They are both used quite a lot locally. One is Dawsons and the other is Peter Alan which are under the umberella of Principality (is this a good thing )

So how do you pick one? Is there anything I should be asking them/looking out for?

Thanks

Try and establish they are members of The ombudsmen scheme for estate agents. and if they are members of The NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) or RICS (Royal Institue of Chartered Surveyors)

They may also be members of other groups like Homesale Network.

    I hope this helps.

I tend to go for the agent that I feel has had most success in selling properties of my type. I also take into account whether their valuation is a true one & how much commision they charge.

If I couldn't choose between 2 I'd check out their websites to see how appealling they were, how often they advertised in local paper, do they advertise on rightmove, are they open Sundays & Bank holidays.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

If you have narrowed to the final 2 to choose from, why not mystery shop the branches that you are thinking of using. You will then get an idea of how your potential buyers are going to treated and looked after, The level of service is key to generating viewings, offers and sales etc..
