Fake items question?

Hi all, just a question,I have purchased a valueable item from a buy it now auction on ebay, everything seemed to be in order. I have just recieved a note saying a postage label has been printed thru ebay to send item to me,all great so far!
However, hyperthetically, what happens if the item comes and is a fake,it states on advert item is factory sealed,so really what I am querying is if I open the item up and it is fake product inside the jar, where do I stand? Can I get my money back,or what is my next avenue?

Would the seller state I had substituted different product or has anyone come up against this in the past, note item is a beauty product.

Many thanks

Do you have reason to think it may be fake? Cos it seems a strange question to ask after you have purchased it unless things look dodgy?

Miss sold the item, return the goods and get your money back.

OH bought a bag of the Bay which was fake, seller even admitted it on complaining to her, with her opologies.

All got sorted easy enough using the correct procedure.

What is it that you have purchased? Is there any way of telling its authenticity before you open it? mse.gif

  • item is a body cream and I have heard that there have been fake items of this brand in the past, however packaging looks fine, but it wont be until i can get into the cream that I will know if it is ok,so i will have to open the packaging!
I hope all is well, and im sure it will be it is just a hyperthetical question, what if?

So basically I would have to report to ebay and open a SNAD, with ebay and paypal?

You'll need more substantial proof than just your word that it is a fake - either trading standards or the manufacturer will have to confirm it is not legitimate.

If this is the case, then you are no under obligation to return the item, paypal will simply refund you. However, it is a common scam played on buyers, so do not expect too easy a ride if you suspect it is fake.
