and secondly, i was thinking about something you said yesterday about "SIL doing all the jobs you were incapable of", or something like that... now i hate to hear you being so down on yourself... accept a bit of help when it's on offer... lords knows you give give give all the time to others so please learn to accept the help on offer you stubborn thing you... you don't *have* to do it all yourself, you can't... so be pleased that your SIL cares enough to help and know that it's his and DD's small way of thanking you for being there for them... he's probably enjoying the fact that he feels useful and is doing something constructive. Don't use someone helping you (for once!) as a measure of you having failed in some way. It's not a stick to beat yourself with...
Lecture over...!
Sorry if it came over that way. It was more of a 'incapeable of finding the time' sort of thought. I really do appreciate him doing it - he did the kitchen yesterday.
I have been awake for hours in the night going over my 'to do' list and trying to work out why I never get to the end of it! I know I workk full time but so do most people. I am usually home from work by 5.30 so, in theory, I have 5 hours when I should be getting things done. Trouble is that I am so tired all the time that I can't get motivated.

hey, don't apologise to me! I just read it as you were berating yourself for not getting it done and needing help, and i'd hate to think that. I'm glad i misunderstood you....
It's hard to find the motivation to get things done when you get home and are shatterred after work... and moreso if it's not been a productive day either, i am often bored here at work and it makes getting motivated at night even harder when the day drags....
What kinda things are on your list right now? Any Brownie stuff you can delegate? Maybe even delegate upwards? Time for your boss to take the share?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Right Bookie
Take only 2 things from that list Bookie each day and set yourself to get only those 2 things done. You will feel like you have achieved something and can then move onto the next 2 things. We all have lists and I don't think I ever get to the bottom of mine as I constantly add things to it. Its about coming to terms with having a list of things to do which you never finish and working methodically through it but also making sure you don't beat yourself up when you are tired and want a night to yourselfI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Thanks you guys. The list just gets longer every day. I never have time to enjoy what I have achieved if you see what I mean.
Guiding wise I have a Commissioner day and a Commisioner evening to arrange, all the units in the county need their accounts checking, I have cheques to write, bookings to do and money to bank. I have a First Aid course to do tonight.
The house hasn't been cleaned for 2 weeks, the lawn needs mowing, loads of pruning and tidying to do, the windows need claening an dthe oven (still ) and my personal accounts need sorting. I need to do a SOA and get sorted.
I have to stock take next wednesday and try to keep the business afloat.
Phew - that feels better but worse. :rotfl:
Shouldn't be beyond me I suppose.
Oh - and I'd like to see little Samuel without feeling guilty that I've not prioritised something else!0 -

Commissioner day to arrange delegate to more senior brownie person
Commisioner evening to arrange, delegate to more senior brownie person
all the units in the county need their accounts checking, delegate to more senior brownie person to do herself or find someone...
I have cheques to write, - shouldn't take more than 30 mins to do if you sit down and do it, do it from the shop?
bookings to do - delegate to more senior brownie person
and money to bank. - do it while you go buy yourself an egg baguette today!!
I have a First Aid course to do tonight. - no probs to you!! make it fun and it won't seem such a chore..!
The house hasn't been cleaned for 2 weeks, - doesn't matter, strikes me you're never in it!
the lawn needs mowing, loads of pruning and tidying to do, - only you are noticing this!
the windows need cleaning only you are noticing this!
the oven (still ) only you are noticing this!
personal accounts need sorting. I need to do a SOA and get sorted. - this needs an evening and a bottle of wine....
I have to stock take next wednesday and try to keep the business afloat. this is next wednesday, worry about it on the day, there's no point it being on the list proper until the day itself...
Oh - and I'd like to see little Samuel without feeling guilty that I've not prioritised something else! and while you see the little man, take a moment to reflect on the stuff you've accomplished!
I hope it doesn't sound flippant, but i really mean it, i can bet that your Brownie boss is not under the strain you are at the moment, so let her deal with the commisioners... explain to her as a friend that you need her help... it's affecting your health if you aren't sleeping, and it's time she supported you, rather than the other way round all the time..... Brownie business is meant to be fun, not a life sentence!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Yep agree with what the wise one Maz says againI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

You're right Maz, it should be fun.
By the way I am trying to be very MSE - given up the egg baguette (liver sausage sandwich today ) and the budget doesn't allow for wine now.
Senior Brownie person has just signed into Aim so presumably just got up! No doubt will phone me soon to moan about how much she has to do! :rotfl:
I have to attend the First Aid not run it which is a pain.
I'll stop moaning now.0
