Your best bet is to give them a ring back and ask them directly. However you must never give your bank details over the phone if any of these companys call you, it is not safe and there is no point taking the risk!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

they do indeed cold call! I too cleared a balance back in November at a couple of weeks later got the we can give you 0.9% for 6 months call -they rang my house twice as I was out and they were told to ring back later.0

I had the same experience. They initially called to offer 0.9% for 6 months. I said I will phone them back the next day. When I did, they said the offer is now 2.9% for 6 months. I said "no". They then said how about 0.9% for 8 months with £35 BT fee. I said "Yes". Actually the person on the phone got it wrong. It worked out at only 5 months. Anyway, they were prepared to give me £14,000. It went straight into my savings pot. Should make about £100 anyway. It is a good idea to play hardball until they offer you a rate you like. I think they do have some discretion.
