Mail redirection - wrong mail sent by Royal Mail

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could advise me on this.
A family member set up a redirection of his mail when he moved recently.
Since then Royal Mail have been sending other family members mail also - same surname but different first name/initials and sex! This has caused not only inconvenience but also bills missed payment dates and bank account access was denied as a bank letter which couldn't be redirected was returned to the bank which put a "stop" on the account.
Have complained already to Royal Mail who have apologised and said they have resolved the problem but they haven't and are still misdirecting mail.
They are stonewalling any request for redress and recompense but we have suffered loss and inconvenience. Does anyone know how we can best take this further?
Most of all we are extremely concerned that important mail will be lost or delayed by them.
Many thanks in advance.
