Windows downloaded automatic updates today which has included Internet explorer 8. As some of you know I am very new to PCs and was just getting to know Internet Explorer 7.
Now on my information bar it says I"Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons diabled. Click here to manage, disable or remove add-ons."
I have not got a clue what an add-on is. What shall I do?

Internet explorer is in a special no add-ons mode so that you can fix a compatibility problem with HP Smart Web Printing. This incompatibility will cause Internet Explorer to stop responding or crash.Be Lucky Everyone0 -
You could check HP's website for any updates to your printer drivers. Perhaps installing the latest version will fix it.
People are having no end of problems with IE 8 though. There were three or four different posts about it yesterday. Firefox and Google Chrome are both better browsers.0 -
Marty J I have done as you suggested and both messages have gone. My toolbars and sidebar have reappeared. Thank you so much for your help.
When I am braver I will try Firefox or Chrome but I am not really brave enough to download much.
Thanks again I think I would thrown my laptop out of the window if it wasn't for the help I get here.Be Lucky Everyone0 -
Well, whatever you're comfortable with.
I'm glad you got it sorted!0
