Soffits and fascia

Hello,
I'm thinking about trying to do the facia and soffit on my bay window. There is no guttering there. Should the felt be tucked in behind the plastic facia (the tidy option) or left overhand the facia so any water can run away?

I believe if there was guttering the felt would overlap and rest on the gutter to allow any water to run into the gutter.

thanks.

  • the felt should go over the fascia and into the gutter

Thanks, but in the case of my bay, there wont be any guttering there. So I'm a little unsure.

Thanks again. I thought so, but hoped to be told otherwise :)
As it's not going to be overly attractive.

It needs to go on the outside. At least then you will know that the water is not going somewhere that you cannot see.
I can afford anything that I want.

Really you should have guttering going around the bay. Most properties do.

The whole area (1950's ex council) dont have the guttering on the bay, so it might look out of place to add it.
    You've got me wondering now.
  • start a new trend .it will stop your windows getting as dirty
