Really though these are gambling sites not auction sites, so be careful about how much money you pay over to chase an item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. hi just came across a site called :Swoopo uk :
its like ebay has anyone used this site ?
or know anything about it ?0 -
First auction i bidded on I won a nintendo ds for £6.00 after 2 bids (with the welcome voucher it didn't cost me much) within a further few minutes managed to lose £20 in bids. I tried a few more times trying to find quiet patches and managed to spend about £100 on bids in a month as well as free bids i'd won, so promptly banned myself, though i suppose i did break even at the time.
It's 50p per bid but you have a to prebuy the bids, with minimum spend (if it hasn't changed) of £10 and then £25, £50 and £100- making it very easy to spend a lot of money in a short space of time and It is very addictive. Don't forget there is delivery on top of most auctions.
Unless you have a bid butler enabled it's very difficult to win as it automatically puts in a bid in within the last 10 seconds (upto chosen limits). The problem with using bid butler then is if someone else has one on that auction all your bids are gone in the blink of an eye untill the person with most bids to play with comes out on top.
If you do want to go for it make sure you do your research, see when it's quiet, what the item has gone for on average that week, how many people are interested. If an item has been won for a really low price and theres another listing further down ignore it as everyone will then think they can get it as cheap and is a sure bet. Also if there's a huge amount of activity on an item, find the one further down the list- people will be so preoccupied with the one at higher price and think they've no chance at the lower one, so can get a sneaky win.

ok stupid question, so when the 'auction' finishes you pay whatever the final amount was, say £50 PLUS all the bids it took you to get there at 50p a go, PLUS delivery ??Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

Plus all the other bids need to be paid for items you didn't win.
