Valuing Vinyl

After the recent passing of my grandparents I rescued their collection of vinyl LPs hoping to find somewhere to sell it, knowing that they would have been as loathe as I am to see it dumped or sold off for a fraction of its value to the house clearance people.

But I'm stuck. I know nothing about the value of this stuff, and I have about 100 of them. It's mostly big band and easy listening, there are no Beatles first editions or anything, but there are some old records and box sets that may be worth more than the 99p I'd get at a boot sale.

Where or how can I find out the value of this collection? I don't want to go to a shop and get ripped off by someone who spots a valuable collectors item amongst the pile, it would make my Grandad hopping mad!

I hope you don't think I'm being mercenary. I could easily sell the lot to a shop for a few quid, but my Grandad was very fond of his records and I want to do the best I can. He'd be just as mad to see them collecting dust and never being listened to again, which is what would happen if I had the space to keep them.

Any suggestions very welcome, thanks!
