I've spoken to the dealer and they are willing to meet me half way... I'm holding out for more tho! I spoke to consumer direct and they said they are in breach of contract... so I'm going down that route... will keep you informed!
Just remember you might have to deal with them again so if it was a honest mistake you might want to cut them some slack.0 -

Your right they are in breech of contract but this does not change anything that has been said already. Push them as hard as you can but there is no legal requirement for them to perform the contract as long as they return you to the position you were in before inception i.e. refund your deposit. In addition to this you might be able to sue for damages, but i doubt you'd get very much if anything.0 -
Interesting.
It might well be a genuine mistake but I've heard a few stories very similar recently and two of these to do with mini's ?
My feeling is they will back down today as its last day of the month. Another option would be to walk into another dealer with written down details of the deal and ask if they can beat it, even if its a tank of petrol or somethingIt's not just about the money0 -
If I were the OP I'd accept at halfway. You don't want to have issues when you need to take it in there when something goes wrong.... If you catch my drift. Missing spark plug anyone?"The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0

Cheers people!
It's good news... I managed to speak to the finance manager... who then spoke to the managing director of the garage... who agreed to honour the original deal WHOOP WHOOP!
I definately think it's worthwhile speaking to someone in authority in cases like these... and name dropping 'consumer direct' certainly helped!
I don't think i'll ask for mats now lol.
Thanks for all your advice :T0
