Buying an apartment - which floor should i go for?

Options
I've put a reservation fee down for a ground floor about a week or so ago. I've noticed that one of the top floor apartments has fallen through now. Is it worth trying to change to this one? Will it be easier to sell whenever i want to move?

  • Unless you are paying a rock-bottom price for any of them, NONE. Please do your research before you buy New builds prices are dropping like a stone, do a search on the Developer you may be shocked by your findings!!!

Personally i would prefer the top floor as if the flat above has wooden floorboards you'll be able to hear them walk around. I would always keep off the ground floor just because if one of the flats is going to get robbed then its always going to be the ground floor one and you won't be able to leave windows open. Ground floor flats tend to be cheaper though. Like the previous poster said they are dropping in value but that means you might get a good discount

  • There is usually a big difference in prices for a higher floor apartment - I think it is usually about 5k extra each floor for the same sq ft. Obviously with views and things like that a higher floor is more desirable but with desirability comes higher prices!

If price isn't an issue I would go for the top floor IMHO.
  • Thanks guys - needed a push in the right direction.
