My account was transferred on 27/2/06 but I can't make calls thro Primus, although I can receive calls. I emailed Primus at the week-end, I had a reply confirming that my account was transferred, just asking if I still can't make calls. I can't even divert a callthro BT on 1280.

sound like you have a problem with your line and not primus .
Get BT to check the line for you .Primus is not the problem0 -
Checked with BT and Primus, I think it's the phone, but I don't understand why if the phone is faulty I can receive calls ok, although it worked fine before I changed to Primus. I've tried an old phone and I can make calls now but it is crackly.0

are you using a dialler by any chance?? Could even be that which is a problem too.0
-
No, I don't use a dialler, but do have broadband connected to the line, the guy at Primus said this could affect it, but it did not affect it before the change over to Primus. I had no problem previously when Talk Talk was the cps carrier.0

I wonder if Primus use some sort of different communication signal down the phone line or something. I don't really know much about the way in which a phone line ect operates, so it's just a guess from me.
I have had no problems with primus, and I use a dialler because I'm also connected with 1899 and 18185.0 -
Hi.I know this sounds stupid but have you got a broadband filter plugged into your phone line?.i DID'NT and that was what was causing my line to crackle.

Thanks Neil40
I did have a broadband filter plugged in to laptop, but had moved the phone from the extension upstairs to downstairs and it was not plugged into a filter, I've plugged it in to one now no crackling and I can make and receive calls.0 -
Just to be sure then. It (appears it) was an internal wiring problem (lack of an ADSL filter) rather than anything to do with BT and/or Primus?iomexico wrote:Thanks Neil40

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Yes, I did not realise that you had to have the filter plugged on even when there was only a phone connected to an extension. When I first got broadband I did wonder why there was two adapters, which I now know are filters and are needed as having broadband on the line alters the set up of the phone reception.0
