accident of, the aircraft, sea vessel, coach or train.
    • You or any person with whom You plan to travel being called up for jury service or being subpoenaed as a witness in a

    events.
    • Your compulsory quarantine.

THIS SEEMS TO BE PART OF THE CANCELLATION SECTION OF QUITE A FEW POLICIES. I wonder if point 4 woul cover a swine flu problem. Im not talking about cancelling due to individual worry about catching it - something i wouldnt do, more really talking about cancellation due to goverment directions

Its possible it would cover it under this wording.

The chances are that the government will lean on the ABI (Insurers trade body) and ask them to deal with claims for cancelling for Swine Flu sympathetically. An Insurer with a wording like this is more likely to pay out under these circumstances

I would also check that you are covered if you travel - i had to shop around as a lot of insurers are not covering if you catch swine flu. I have bought an insurance policy with insurewithease.com they do not cover cancellation but (as long as you are not traveling against foreign office advise) will cover you for medical bills if you catch it. :j

By FCO it's meant Foreign Office.

Alex Payney this post and your other post praising the company look pretty spammy to me.

Whats so great about covering swine flu for medical bills? I don't know of any other Insurer that currently excludes this for medical costs at the current time.

There are quite a few Insurers that technically cover having to cancel a trip due to Swine Flu.

Your policy is underwritten by Great Lakes with First Assist providing assistance services, they are not a bad company although in the last week we have had two MSE members who have had lareish claims declined (One has subsequently been agreed after the MSE member took it to the media).

Please don't spam MSE as we do not appreciate it.
