Yes, I do agree that the OP has nothing to lose by requesting one except some time. But I have to say that as someone who deals with this stuff I wouldn't issue one in these circumstances and I think that even describing it as an outside chance is erring towards over-optimism...0

Does any one here work for Tesco insurance? I would like a pm if possible as I really need to know the workings of Tesco insurance because I am having real trouble getting the "supervisor" there to listen to me. I dont want to start an argument with him as that doesnt help.
More anomolies(sp?).....reading through the documents I see it even has my DD name the wrong way round! Except that when you log in the system automatically inputs the name. Also, after doing test quotes using the Tesco site with 02/05 as the policy start date the system says payment due 02/05. With a start date of 17/07 due payment date shows as 17/07. So surely some one somewhere must have re-input the data?
They have cancelled the existing policy which hasnt started yet!
They have started yet another policy which we have had to pay for again
They havent confirmed this is a valid policy except verbally and so we darent drive the car until the paperwork arrives
Anyone who has insurance with Tesco really needs to double and triple check their documents
Any other help much appreciated
Never again Tesco.0 -
I'm under the impression that most insurance companies have mainframe computer systems that were designed in the 70s/80s, so rather than buying a whole new computer system, they simply have staff to copy the date from the website system into the mainframe (because its cheaper). Mistakes will happen, so you need to get someone at Tesco to find out exactly what was entered into the website.More anomolies(sp?).....reading through the documents I see it even has my DD name the wrong way round! I'm not entirely sure what Tesco do.
Perhaps you could try and register for this service http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/servicing/accs_pols/index.html (if you haven't already). The data may come from the website system rather than the mainframe?0
