JSA Signing off and final payments

Finally got a job, started today went to the job centre on Monday filled out the form in the book that I take to sign on and handed it in saying start work today and want the jsa to be paid up until yesterday. Was suprised you didn't have to have some kind of interview or something but never mind doesn't bother me either way just glad to be working.

Now I would normally sign on tomorrow (Thursday) and the money would be in my account monday or tuesday next week. Obviously I wont be signing on tomorrow as i have finished my claim and started work.

When should I expect my final payment to go in my account? I am hoping fairly soon as I won't get paid from the new job till Mid June!

Anyone got any ideas? I did ask the woman at the jobcentre who i handed the book and that back to but she said she can't give me any advice on it. Which seems to be what they always say in there when you ask them something.

When you sign off the jobcentre will complete all the dates on the computer system but it's up to the benfit processing office to actually complete the process which will isue your final paymnet and send the P45. If you get chance and of course you can get through you will need to call benfit enquiries if you want to know exactly when you will be paid. The jobcentre don't have any say over your pay I'm afraid. On good point though if you were due to sign on your payment should of been advanced due to the bank holiday so you may find money in your account as normal. This will mean you have been overpaid a small amount but as it's official error they won't reclaim it.

Thanks for that, hopefully something will go in this Friday then although I wouldn't bank on it as there has been a right catalouge of errors following a days work that i did for an agency and them thinking i have a part time job even though i have told them loads of times.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for the processing department to issue the p45 and process the final payment?

I would give them a call but i'm working 12 hours a day now. With only a short break and those people are impossible to get through to.

as soon as they recive your card they will finalise your claim and you should recive payment about 4 working days later the p45 around the same time scale

The official line on the p45 is 7 to 10 working days.
