SNAD item arrived from Germany

Hi,
I bought a part for my car from a seller in Germany.
When it arrived it is completely the wrong part. The seller has a good feedback so hopefully all will be well.
BUT It will cost me £24 to send the item back signed for (as far as I can work out!). Is it down to the seller to recompense me or not?
Obviously my purchase will end up much more expensive if I have to pay the return postage.
Is there any other method of shipping to Germany?
Item is 2kg and 1.1m x 0.2m x 0.2m
Should I ask the seller to send the money for me to return the item?

If it were me, I would probably just re-sell it on ebay, and then order the correct part.

I would query it with the seller first though, and ask if they would pay the return postage.

Thanks,yes if they don't pay the return I will probably sell the part they sent (its worth a wee bit more than the one I bought!) and buy another of the item I wanted! £24 is a lot but I would not want to send it "non signed for"

Just to update,

The seller has got back to me and is sending a courier to collect my item and meanwhile has already dispatched the correct item to me!
Result! ( assuming all goes to plan of course!)
