Will I get my money back if I convert the garage?

Thinking of converting my attached garage into a familyroom/ 4th bedroom. It`s 16ft by 9ft wide.

Any ideas how much it should cost, already have a door into it,plus power.

We have a large driveway,with parking for several cars.

We may need to move in 4-5 years, so need to think about getting my money back.

We live up north in a 3 bed semi.

difficult one as it varies by area. I converted the garage in my old house and it made no difference as the loss of garage left me with no added value. You also have to factor in other costs such as the local council will charge for change of use etc.

If you can do the job cheeply then its worth doing if you need the extra space, but otherwise I would put the money towards moving if thats what you plan to do in the long term
