Blackberry pearl 8110, cant use on PAYG on o2???

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a blackberry pearl 8110 from my friend, sim free pay as you go. I put my sim in and tried to request the settings from o2, I ended up having to ring them and they said there are no pay as you go blackberrys as they are made for contract only and i could still use the phone but I couldnt use the internet or MMS, is this true? or is it only o2 who don't have the settings for blackberrys internet etc? He then tried to get me onto the simplicity tarrif, which then meant i could use these functions.
I have looked on argos and they do pay as you go blackberrys?

Thanks x

Excuse me, what is that meant to mean??? This is not a stolen phone or whatever you think it is, i can use it, just not to access the internet. That is why I asked if it was only o2 as she used it on t-mobile payg with no problems. I don't appreciate your comment, not very helpful at all

I mean as you bought it from your "friend" presumably he/her knows all about it & how to get it doing what you want. Why/how can you be offended I do not know, but heh ho, takes all sorts.

Cheers & Best Wishes to all, including those who don't agree with me...

It was just the way it was wrote, I apologize i took it the wrong way,

I asked her today and she just used her t-mobile sim (although I'm not sure if she has one of those contract sims, I'll have to ask her) normally there is a 'world' icon but I don't have that on mine with my sim, she couldn't get it either.

mluton, I've tried looking on the phone for any sort of setting but can't find it, I'll keep looking, finding it hard to use! lol

To use the Internet and MMS on the Blackberry you have to have the APN's provisioned on your account. For contract customers there are Blackerry Unlimited and Blackberry Pay As You Use, not sure if you can get them on PAYG though.
