problem with seller

I won something at the weekend that is a collection only item due to size and weight. The seller is a private seller and the item finished for the starting bid and is probably worth about £40 more.
The listing states the item is 30 miles away from my home town
I contacted the seller on the day the auction ended and said could i have a contact number to arrange collection and gave mine. On Monday i hadnt received a response so i had a look to see if there had been any activity on the account and some things had been relisted, so i emailed the seller again and asked if i could collect on sunday this coming weekend as i desperatly need the item, today i still had no response.
So ive sent a third messages. Now i was thinkin maybe the seller is away but there is no mention of this on the listing i won or any other listing, the seller has listed items and had items finish since the weekend and has left some feedback.
The seller hasnt sent me an invoice for the item and hasnt replied to three msgs ,i dont want to hamper the seller with messages but i do need to know asap if i can collect this weekend so i can plan my weekend etc.
I dont know what else to do. the seller would appear to be ignoring me and doesnt want to sell the item.
I have kept copies of all my emails incase he claims im a non paying bidder, to prove to ebay that ive been trying to contact the seller and ive also requested the sellers contact details through ebay but had no luck with the number on that information.
I dont have the sellers address each as it says to contact for address.
Can i report seller non performance and how do i do this and what would you do?

You can get the sellers address & phone number through Ebay (Im not sure how though as Ive never had to do it before). When you do this ebay will also send a message to the seller advising you have requested their contact details.
It may be worth trying to contact the seller directly & see if there is a genuine reason why they havent replied.
Personally I would only report once I had tried other options, especially if what you have won is something you really need.
I hope you have some luck.0 -
hiya
thanks for the reply
I contacted ebay re address etc by phone this evening and was told i had to complete a request additional contact information, which i had already done and this only gave me the town and phone number.
I have tried to ring the phone number but never an answer
there could be a really good reason why he hasnt been in touch, i will wait till the weekend and see if i hear anything before i decide what to do next0 -
Call his bluff and make a paypal payment.
Either way he'll have to take some action.
I assume it's not a massive amount, and only the seller really is at risk if you pay by PP for a local pick up.It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
thats a good idea, i will wait till friday and then send a paypal payment. See what the seller does or says.
I dont want him to then refund me and say that cause the listing says cash on collection only i have not followed the terms of the sale and refuse to sell it to me as like ive said i really do need it.0 -
I think I am correct in thinking that by Ebays rules sellers must take paypal for any sale, despite what terms they may write in their auctions.2 angels in heaven :A0
