Playing on a DVD player

in Techie Stuff
tried to put some pics together using windows movie player and they came good when playing .. when copied to a dvd would not play in dvd player. they were in .wmv files .. do i have to convert them and if so is there a free programme that does it .. nice and easy please .. using windows home basic and ashampoo burning .. thanks

I've used DVD Flick (http://www.dvdflick.net/) lots of times for converting video files to run in a standard DVD player.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
