With RPI predicted to stay below zero for some time I would have thought even high rate tax payers could get a better rate. Maybe woth getting shortly before VAT is put back up but that is not for some time.
But, would I be correct in thinking that at any given time, there are only a limited amount of these Index linked certificates available? Your limit is £15k per issue so perhaps better to get as much in now if you believe Inflation is on the horizon even if it's 12 months or more away?0 -
Does anyone know how often they issue new issues?0

I have just figured out the difference between a new issue on the same terms and raising the limit on an old issue.
For someone with £15k in an old issue there is no difference. They can invest a total of £30k in two issues on the same terms.
For everyone else there is a difference. By extending an old issue someone who had nothing invested would now be able to invest £30k. With a new issue they can only invest £15k.0 -

There is not set schedule it depends on changing interest rates elsewhere and on the Government's need for funds.0 -

There are plenty "predicting" that inflation could come back and hit double digits for a period. As things stand a range of scenarios are possible and using index linked certs helps headge against those.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). ....and Issue 18 (3 year) and Issue 45 (5 year) are no longer available which confirms my point that you have limited exposure to these certificates if you don't get them when they are released.0 -
