I have claimed for my missing parcels but it is just the frustration of it all! I then thought Signed For may help but that seems to do nothing other than delay the parcel more.

We have also had parcels go missing America to here - that is even more frustrating as you have to wait 90 days for "investigations" which tell you nothing.

I can feel my blood pressure simmering ... I will be well and truly on my soap box when we have size based pricing in the summer. I may never post another thing!

Well I always thought recorded was safe until now.

Letter sent late March, rec'd by company but Royal Mail site shows untrackable because undelivered.
Letter posted last Monday with postal order in, shows untrackable because undelivered.
Seems even recorded is useless these days.

Big ste - similar story. My cousin had an Irish lad stay with her for about 9 months. Knew his family from Ireland so put him up. He was temping throughout for the P.O. When he left they found tons & tons of undelivered post in his bedroom. Cousin and her son secretly went out night after night and gradually dropped all this post into postboxes so at least it got into the system. She didn't report it because she didn't want to fall out with his family.
With the amount of 'casuals' they employ and total lack of organisation, it's a total mess.

My postman usually tells me what's in my letters (by mistake I hope! He'll say oh I see you got a letter about such and such).
He even once told me on an opened package 'its only a cheap keyring, we thought it was a ring or something else back at base'.
So I guess if it had been I wouldn't have gotten it then?
When I complained they just say they can't get the staff.

My son quit his job on 11 th March. A long story, but the company sent him a letter (recorded) stating that they would give him time till 31st March to change his mind and in the meantime wouldn't be accepting his notice.
He never recieved the letter. Today they re-sent it with a proof of recorded and a signature. Needless to say it wasn't signed by anyone at this address.
It has caused him problems with signing on for Job seekers and he's had no money from his work, as they were waiting on a reply from him to their letter.
It causes so much anxiety and yet when you complain they say the most stupid things. The daftest one was once when I complained (I very often do and its a pay number, so have to pay to complain knowing you'll get no joy), they guy said 'Oh I know your address. It's just the guy on that round doesn't understand English and can't read very well'..................................................................????????????

Big ste my Dad (stupidly) sent me cash through the post but he used Special Delivery as he thought this was safe. He went into the PO at 450 pm, closing time was at 5 pm and only one staff member was at the desk.

Well when the envelope went "missing" it showed as being signed into his local post office at 4:51 but it was never tracked as leaving that PO..he had to wait three months for an investigation which told him Royal Mail lost his parcel and he could claim back only his £5 postage. The package couldn't be insured as he sent cash and this is not insurable. Sad and yes he should have known better but he is old and still trusts people (well he did until then).

Even when they knew where the parcel was taken from they wouldn't help. He never received so much as an apolgy, just a cheque for his postage and that took over 3 months.

Thanks to everyone, just spoke to my son today, says he has now received a reply asking him for proof of posting, obviously difficult as 1 or 2 items were just 1st class stuff. He says they seem to think its all about the money, but hes more concerned about the fact of the thefts.Says hes now having his stuff delivered to his work, and is going to pass the complaint across to the organisation who deal with this stuff.I will update you to let you know whats happened. Thanks to big ste re thr test address suggestion, thats exactly what i want,in fact i would do it myself if it was workable ,but it clearly isnt.

I'm shocked to hear what you've been through. Is this sick evil beast still around or working at the PO? Do you still have those nasty emails? How did he know your email address - from the letters? I'd complain to the police & so should you. I'm surprised nobody has commented. G

How do you know it's the postman? and how would he know your email address? Plus why haven't you shown the mails to the police? They can trace things like that. If he is saying its him in the emails it could be someone just saying it's the postman because why would he say it in an email himself?

I don't trust the postal service myself, in fact today I'm waiting for a missing parcel but if I had the evidence that you have I'd go to speak to the police about it
    Thanx
