Moving car insurance during policy

Im insured with Endsleigh but HSBC actually provide the cover. My policy runs out the beginning of Decemeber and i am desperate to move immediately. To shorten the story you never realise what a bad purchase you've made until the **** hits the fan. I had an accident- yet to be resolved to the point that it is making me ill. Even the complaints department is a load of rubbish.

Anyway i do not feel safe staying with the same company and im worrying what will happen to me if i have another accident before my policy expires. I'm sure HSBC underwrites insurance through other companies. Would it be possible to move it?

You would have to pay a cancellation fee to Endsleigh. If the claim isn't yet sorted, your NCD will also be lowered to the next level. You'll receive the years back on your NCD if the accident turns out not to be non-fault.

If you have a claim in the current period of your Insurance and the company have not recovered their outlay (Which judging by your post they have not) then there is no refund of premium if you paid up front and if you are paying via instalments you will have to keep paying the instalments up until renewal
