Hi All,
I have been checking posts with regards to Free Caller Display with SkyTalk. As far as i can gather you CANNOT do the 1280 overide anymore.
What my research did find is that if you go to Sky for line rental they will give you Free CallerDislay link here :- http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/skyproducts/skytalk/linerental.
What i cannot understand is why certain people say DO NOT leave BT for line rental, why not? Surely if you have a line rental problem it's BT who will resolve it,no? Surely £10 a month is better than £11.25/£12.50 + £3 for caller display??
Anyway hope it is of use to some.

Figures are a little off Smithmeister , BT line rental with a contract call plan ,direct debit and paplerless bill with caller display ( the most appropriate comparison to Sky) is £11.25, still more than Sky's £10 but you do get 0845/0870 numbers included in the call plan and can use indirect access numbers ,BT recon the average punter spends £3/month on 0870/0845 numbers
This needs to be taken into account when comparing, you also need to spend at least another £16.50 with Sky for the basic TV pack0 -

No-one would or should buy Sky TV just to get Sky Talk, but if you're already a Sky TV customer maybe it's worth considering (especially if you use https://www.saynoto0870.com to look up an alternative to the 0845/0870 numbers and save the average £3/month spend).0 -
Sorry guys what i meant to say was if you are already with Sky. I am with them, pay £17.50 pm thats for 2 packs(and the ease of use that is Sky+!) and i get my calls(Evening and Weekend) and my broadband for 'free'.
At the moment i am paying BT for line rental only. Caller Display is something i find handy but grudge paying £3 pm for the privilege.
I was looking for a way to get it free this way i can. I understand that by staying with BT i can use the override numbers but i am out all day working, as is my wife, so we don't make calls during the day. IF i have to dial an 0845/0870 number i use saynoto0870.
Therefore, for me, it's worth it to change.
I was hoping that others who are with SKY would read it and know they could still get caller dispaly for free without paying BT
