capital one

hello all
sent letter 1 to capital 1 for the credit charges nearly 600quid. had letter back saying they are fair and legal. but as a goodwill gesture they offerd me £8. sent them 2nd letter thanks but no thanks. had a letter to day saying they are confident there default sums are both fair and leagel and they are disapponted to here i am considering further action.they sent a second page to sign and send back for the £8.also at the bottom of the letter quote; i look forward to receving your signed settlement form so we can put this behind us and save the FOS valuable time.what should i do next

    reject and give them 10days to cough up, or going to FoS / court.. Cap1 seem notorious for stalling cases til the last moment.

    FoS may be best bet, to show you tried to get sorted by mediation, before going legal route..

    also, i beleive (someone else may back this up) each card co gets charged when the FoS get involved, whether they win or lose.. the more people that take them on, they more likely they are to see sense..

    (or go under?!)
    Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
