Sky + and another satellite dish...

We currently have a sky box and another box (and dish) we can receive foreign channels on.
I would like to upgrade my sky to a Sky+ box and wondered if I'd be able to still record our foreign programmes onto it.
I'm guessing probably not and if that is the case then could I still keep my VCR hooked upto the foreign satellite box without disrupting the Sky+ functionality ?
Also, it is necessary to have a phone line permanently connected to a Sky+ box ?
Many thanks

I think it's part of the T&Cs you have the phone line connected but they don't care unless you have multiroom (in which case both boxes have to be connected to same line).
You wouldn't be able to record from the other box onto the Sky+ but shouldn't have any problem running them side by side.0 -
Yup, it is sort of part of the conditions to have a 'phone line permanently connected...
However we didn't want more wires tacked round the skirting board. So I laid an extension under a couple of rugs, socket on the end just by the place for the Sky+ box (new install).
Nice man turns up. Looks pleased he's got less to do. Does the busoness, service wonderful, now I can see Sky Sport!
'Phone line was disconnected from the Sky+ box 5mins after the man-with-the-screwdrivers left & it's never been connected since. (3 months) Everything works fine.
I THINK Sky just want you to use the buttons to call up mother for various expensive things (eg booking pay4view). Suspect if challenged as "unfair contract terms" they'd lose but doubt anyone can be a****d..
Ho hum, Sky+ wonderful!
Cheers!
