I tried for an argos account earlier this year and was sent a letter politely telling me to go away :rotfl:.

My lil sister has an account with them, but then her credit history is as deliciously fragrant as Mary Archer. That's one for the teenagers out there :p.

    Hi People
Just home from work to a lovely surprise :j
A few weeks ago I got a letter from Littlewoods, already have Littlewoods Direct and Empire so obviously a marketing thing.
In the letter it stated that I had 'won' a cash amount to spend on goods subject to opening an account with the usual small print, subject to status etc.
Amounts ranged from £15 up to £1000 blah blah blah.
Anyway just got my post and new account opened, £1200 limit and £500 credited to account as my allocated gift.. woo hoo

Thinking of ringing HSBC and asking for an overdraft, seeing if they can tell me if I'll be accepted or if they can manually do it.
