.....I've done nothing wrong...re the truth any lawyer will tell you this can be bent by a lawyer in court. People who get benefit are not getting charity...it is our money...the clue is in the word national "insurance" ie insurance which you claim for when sick, disabled, unemployed etc. I have worked for 30+ years and estimate I have paid in £150,000 into the system.
You may well have done nothing wrong but you certainly don't receive your own money back; that was spent long ago on benefits for people who were claiming when you were working. What you receive now is money that current workers are contributing. Like many people, you have very little idea of how the benefits system works!
And, by the way, I very much doubt that you have paid anything like £5,000 pa in NICs!0 -
...You certainly live up to your tag...Oldernotwiser....I know exactly how the benefit system works and you have a cheek doubting my earnings....you don't even know me...0

Hmmm, dunno what that was! Doesn't sound like an interview under caution though. But then if you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to worry about

Actually there was a poster on here a while back who was groomed by benefits to get her to admit she was committing fraud. She received compensation from them as she could prove she was in the clear but having nothing to worry about doesn't always cut it.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

If you've really earnt that sort of money then I apologise, but my comment about your lack of understanding of how the benefits system works still stands, as your earlier comment shows.0
