well yeah it is if they are a shareholder

Then they have a vested interest to make sure that their labelling is right so that they don't mislead customers as to how much an item costs. Then they would not have to give out DTD for their own mistakes.

I might have picked up 2 sets of Denby today :o £152 DTD. My biggest DTD amount yet but at £76 per item, not my biggest actual DTD. My folks actually got 2 sets themselves and let me know while I was out so good timing meant I was in luck. My poor neighbour wasn't however although between me & dad we tried 5 other stores today but either no stock or SEL showed full price.

So I reckon that over the last few weeks between Denby, Remington, Mega Bloks, Professional Cook knives and beer (I won a giftcard from the £2/box Bud so 16 boxes ended up costing £22) me & my folks have accumulated around £1000 worth of stuff for next to nothing (knife glitch was the only expensive one). God I love this forum!

    Hi
I was refused dtd as they don't give dtd when it is an out of date SEL. This is Tesco policy and has always been the policy-according to the elec dept manager.
Should I go back and ask to speak to a manager or call head office? Has anyone had a favourable reponse from HO?
    thanks

That is complete cobblers ! They know they have cocked up by not replacing the SEL on its due date .

The whole point of DtD is that If you are charged more than the displayed SEL whether it is out of date or not you get DtD !

Go back , point out the error of their ways and ask for it, point out the blue sign behind CS to them and tell them to read it !

I did point this out, and read it to them, and asked them where it said this and then asked when this policy of the 'not if it is an ood sel' came into operation and was told this was always the policy!!
I was told I could have the refund of overcharge but I refused this as I was getting in touch with HO.

Yes I too got the Knives, Denby, Mega Blocks, Phones etc. However I got £172.oo dtd yesterday on 2 Denby Sets ( NOT THE JAMES MARTIN ONES) so might be worth a trip back for your extra £20.00.
Don't mean to be rude as you seem to be a top bargain hunter but would not want Mr T to cheat you.:T

Thank you! The sets I got were the ordinary Denby SEL £38 but scanning at £76. I only saw the James Martin sets in one store yesterday but priced at £67. This is the same store that has the infamous knife blocks with an SEL of £60 whereas everywhere else has them priced at £65.

I remember seeing the sets in another store priced at £33, save £43 so that would have been £84 DTD per box or £8 profit per box. The store I got my Denby in had definitely had the JM sets but alas none out on display.

Anyone tried the Ready Steady Cook pots yet?
  • I got an unexpected DTD last night. Tesco turkey mince is priced on the pack at £2.50, but in my store there was a white SEL for £2. I was buying it anyway and made a point of checking my receipt (cost £2.50). Result - DTD of £1.00.
Added to the £4 from more of the black stripey glasses I bought too, I was sure I might get trouted, but no, nice CS lady gave me the money no probs with a smile.:)

And there's more stickered glasses to be had at P*rth Cr**ff Rd too.;)
