I said its wrong, out of order, very unhappy customer etc and she was having none of it saying thats the new policy. I replied with well you best change all your blue boards to read this as it doesnt state, in the midst of er saying "I will not give you dtd but I will pass on your comments to the store manager" my phone dies no battery...damn and I was arguing in the middle of a soft play centre whilst chasing my 1 year old round...what a conversation that must have sounded like
so if this new policy is true just keep tabs in case its getting rolled out to all stores...looks like we may have a fight on our hands :mad:
just a tescoism, they really cannot afford the negative publicity of pulling this policy after admitting defeat 3 years ago by pulling R&R when they couldnt control their price integrity, then the laughable promotion of price checking against asda, they are still reeling from that one.
They will keep this in place for a while yet.
Arguing with Head Office is nothing new, they assigned one person to handle misprices at head office in those days,Kevin Kelly and he was a nasty piece of work, phoning people back in the middle of the night and causing real problems, trying to trace people by their posts.
Another word of warning of those posting pictures from instore or at home of items obtained from tesco, remember that new phones like the iphone and others have a thing called geotagging in built into photos which embeds data into the photo, of the location the photo was taken using GPS. Quite easy for anyone to trace a photo back to its owner. :eek:0 -

They should do, its company policy, advertised on every point of sale and behind CS desk, direct desk and electrical desks.
But they dont have to by law. A DtD payment is given to the customer as an apology for being overcharged. Its to try and stop you reporting them to trading standards for misleading pricing.
Many stores have been hammered in the past and managers Im sure have told staff on CS desks to just offer the difference unless the customer asks for DtD. After all most customers would be happy just to end up paying the price they expected to pay.
How many people dont check receipts, and therefor end up thinking they have had a bargain only to have been charged full price and never know.
You may get lucky with the staff doing it automatically but if the amount ends up being over £50 they tend to get a bit twitchy, Xbox360's for free are a good example back in the day and the main scape goat for the R&R policy being pulled, nothing to do with the fact that they could not and still cannot keep on top of price integrity in store.0 -
Was just in Insh3s tesco in Inv3rn3ss and spotted a 32 inch LG tv that was £249.99 reduced from £329.99 and the SEL went out of date yesterday!! However, it was in with ex display stuff so don't know how that would have worked with regards of getting DTD. Would have probably have needed a member of staff to get it as it was the last one and it wasn't in a box,so probably more trouble than its worth but if I had the money I so would have tried it!! would have worked out at £169.99 after DTD
A nice little bargain!!

I haven't checked this myself yet, but a friend told me that she bought a pair of childrens sunglasses this morning, with a sel of £1-25, but they went through the till at 25p. (This was in a Tesco Express). She then went back and bought 10 more pairs and they also went through at 25p per pair.
I will have a look tomorrow and report back!N1LDA:D0 -
