defairmans wrote: »That's a good tip, caz! Thanks. Was wondering how I'd ever use that particular spit. But have a question for you...if I managed to get hold of one of the dinner sets and it goes through as £50 with the £5 off, will I still be able to get full dtd back? Maybe it would be too obvious that I knew I was overcharged.
My folks picked up 2 Mega Bloks (hence the tip) and used the £5 voucher. Now they did have other shopping but they still got back the full £60 and kept the 5p fuel till spit. At the end of the day, you could have kept that voucher and used it on something else so that's £5 you've lost out on ...... well it's actually a £5 profit as instead of having a pretty useless voucher you now have £5 cash to spend. Result
As for the dinner set, you saw £50 on the SEL and thought that you'd gotten a bargain as you could get a further £5 off. It was only when you were re-arranging your groceries in your trolley after paying that you saw the £25 half price stickerYou get the full £50 back which includes the £5 voucher you can no longer use.

Hi,
I went looking for the phones that czerniacha was talking about and got a bit confused as there didnt seem to be any offer on them??
I saw lots of the stripey tumblers but didnt get any as I'm not keen on them but did get some clear glass tumblers (they had tall and stumpy ones) which have a kind of large bubble pattern all over, really nice and only £2 for 6!!
No signs of any Paxo, teabags had wrong barcode and no harpicAlthough on the plus side I asked about price checkers and was told they have 3 in my local store so they must be REALLY well hidden as I've only ever seen 1 which never works!
That's because the offers ended 10/07 and I only got them because they didn't remove the SELsI always go and have a look the day after their offers and as they often leave some SELs behind and that's what you benefit from... Oh, and it was in the afternoon so I wasn't there first thinkg in the morning as I'd be afraid for the SEL to be gone by the time the CS person goes and checks. So it was a "genuine" dtd :rotfl: or two :rotfl:
However in most stores they will be removed so no bargains there... But it's worth to have a look anyway... you never know...0 -
Oh I see! no wonder I didnt have any luck then! thanks for clearing that up
Are people still finding the dining sets? I looked in my local tesco and there didnt seem to be much choice, even if they were all full price! Maybe the shelves have already been cleared!**** Itchin' for a glitchin' ****0 -
Lots of the stripy glasses in Brislington store yesterday, have been looking for these for weeks, so got myself 4 yesterday and there are plenty left on the shelf most of them have the 4 for £3 stickers on, I didn't have any problem getting dtd although lady on cs said she had asked for those glasses to be sorted out weeks ago! I also got 5 boxes of the 7p teabags and left some for somebody else, been looking for these with no luck too so goes to show its worth having a look when your at mr t's just in case! The teabags where in with the promo stuff on the tin aisle though, I also got a bottle of lenor for free using a coupon, and a quid each for aerial stain removers with coupons too!!0

OMFG I've just had the biggest trouting in my life. I had two DTD issues, one was an item that scanned full price (missing reduced sticker as I later found out) but the 2nd one was the corker and only worth about half the amount of DTD compared to the other item.
Long story short-ish, item is priced on shelf and on 3 for 2. 3 bottles of said product left and a test scan showed the correct price. Went through SS but as the queue was building behind me I just sped through and didn't pay proper attention to the multi-saves at the end. Checked my receipt for the booster points I was expecting and noticed the missing multi-save.
Went to CS and finally the woman dealt with me after she finished chatting with who I can only presume was a friend. Her attitude stank from the second she laid eyes on me and so when she ended up having to go to the specific aisle herself to check prices, she wasn't happy in the least. Checked the SEL and the barcode for the 3 for 2 item didn't match. Well the item description and price did so she offered me a refund. Explained politely that I would like to keep the item on 3 for 2 as have my DTD (wouldn't normally mention it but knew I was getting trouted anyway). Waited ages for a manager who didn't appear so finally she agreed to give me the items at the 3 for 2 price so refunding 1 item. Explained that it should be DTD and she said the SEL was out of date and it was the wrong product. I told her nicely that it was not up to me to check barcodes against SELs. She then said "I'm not arguing with you any more. I'll just give you the £x" i.e. DTD. She then muttered something under her breath so I asked her to repeat it. She said did you go through SS to which I said yes. "Well did you not notice the wrong price?". I explained that the queue was getting long and no I didn't. Got told that she shouldn't be giving DTD as it was a SS transaction. By this point I politely lost it and told her that I am not paid to ensure that Tesco prices and offers are correct.
Cheeky f'in mare. Will be phoning CS to log a complaint. Even the woman behind me couldn't believe her attitude. All for a few quid too.  :mad:0 -
Well I got my first DTD today
Found the stripy glasses at TWO tesco stores in Liverpool after looking for them for ages. In the first store the woman realised they weren't going through for 4 for £3 - so called someone over to sort it - Great service, but I wanted the double the difference! In the end it was taking a while so I said to leave it as I was in a rush.
At my second store I picked a young lad who I suspected wouldn't know or care - and I was rightWalked up to the CS and mentioned I'd been charged wrong and she was lovely - told me that I'd get back twice the amount and there was no hassle at all. Couldn't stop grinning as I went to my car. I also discovered they'd fixed the price checker so I will defo be going back there and hopefully I'll find a bargain to post.
Thanks everyone - couldn't have done it without you :T0 -
If you are getting Mega Bloks then can I suggest the following:
Buy 2 Mega Bloks that way you can ....
Use your £5 off £50 till spit as it can be used on toys (I forgot)
Get a 5p off petrol till spit
The £5 till spit makes you £5 profit and for me, a 5p off petrol means almost £3 off a tank of petrol as well. Obviously if you don't have kids or cannot donate them to a worthwhile cause then please leave these for others. I can't control what people do but thought I'd mention it as the Mega Bloks are few and far betwen these days so if you do find them, you might as well make the most of it.
was just about to post this, you beat me to it
i did the same with 2 megablocks this lunchtime, i had £3 off £20 spend and £5 off £50 spend ,i bought a few packs of the one pound mens socks and some baby bath as well, total bill came to £58.60, left to pay 60p, DTD £50 , total cost of shopping 60p:Tdefairmans wrote: »That's a good tip, caz! The only thing i would add is be careful not to make it too obvious, your going to get the megablocks for nothing anyway, why not buy a bit of shopping for about £5 that will also be free.
One point though is if you have a particularly clever trout she may ask why you used a £5 off £50 till spit if you expected the blocks only to be £15 eachie less than £50 . I know the receipt isn't specific and it just says coupon but it did cross my mind when I was sweating in the Cs queue lol!OMFG I've just had the biggest trouting in my life. What an experience:eek::eek:
glad you didn't move until you got your DTD!
..... and to think I was brickin' myself today with 2 megablocks! CS staff knows me but I don't think she served me with the blocks last time, she went to get the sel and spent ages whispering down the phone and i got the evil eye alright but gave me DTD without me asking for itGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

if you've still got the glasses with the stickers on from the 1st store nothing to stop you from claiming your DTd tomorrow or when you are next passing as its not an SEL issue, you have the stickers as proof! keep your reciptGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Was that the blonde haired lady or the younger black haired lady? They are both lovely. Always DTD without a single prompt... I give them my bestest sweetest smile and always wish them a good dayElite 5:2 #54 12/13 lbs (18 Jan) 1st Target :j0
