Hope this hasnt been done before
Im just curious what vegetables or fruit you buy frozen which you find is just as good as the fresh kind.
Ive only tried cauliflower and peas but i was curious about the others like broccoli. Im scared it be all mushy when its cooked from frozen.
can you tell me which ones types frozen you prefer to buy?
thanks

Only veg we buy frozen is Peas. Can't stand frozen carrots and the like - have a really bad taste imo.
Although I suppose as potatoes are veg then we buy frozen chips too

we buy peas, sweetcorn, string beans, broad beans, mushrooms and they all taste fine.
i agree with woohoo on the carrots. they are better fresh0 -
I find steaming frozen veg makes them less like mush

I've done frozen broccoli but prefer it fresh, usually do frozen peas, sweetcorn, and sliced green beans. Sometimes do frozen baby carrots but find they tend to take ages to warm through the middle.
Aldi frozen Mediterranean grilled veg (that you stirfry from frozen) are really nice.Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
Most frozen veg is fine if used in with the meat and/ or sauce, but not always so great to eat on its own. Frozen brocolli is great for soup, spinach in currys (squeeze the water out), and peppers handy for bolognese. The only frozen veg I eat alone is petit pois and supersweet corn.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I buy frozen cauli and brocolli from Farm Foods at £1 per pack. I then only use what I need. Dont cook it for over three mins and its perfect. I buy peas and broad beans from Asda. I must have saved a fortune as I used to overstock when I bought fresh, then throw a lot away!0

Whole green beans (French beans?) are great. We eat loads of them. I usually just microwave them if they're going to be with a sauce, otherwise I reheat them in a little butter/oil and garlic. Also buy peas, spinach, cauli and broccolli and planning to buy peppers. I think frozen is cheaper, less wasteful and has all the nutrients of fresh. The green beans are about a quarter of the price of fresh and that's not allowing for the waste (time and money) of topping and tailing them.0

i always have frozen peas in and either sprouts or cauli as a back up as sometimes i buy veg and it goes off because ive forgotten itJAN WINS- pepsi tshirt,0

I buy a big bag of frozen mixed peppers from Asda they are brilliant for adding to mince etc and so much cheaper than fresh. Also buy peas and broad beans.0

I usually only have peas and sweetcorn, there are only 2 of us and we have a smallish freezer so don't have theroom to fill it with other stuff (the only reason I have those is a tin is too big for the 2 of us, and it's not readily available fresh all year round)0

Carrots and broccoli come out watery / mushy I've found. Peppers and mushrooms I buy fresh, then chop and freeze myself!
Peas, sweetcorn, green beans all fine too. I've just bought a bag of frozen diced swede but haven't tried it yet (I have no knife brutal enough to get through a proper fresh swede lol)"She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often
