My friend has asked me to help her out with her e-mail but I'm a bit stuck.
Basically her BF uses her computer even though they don't live together and he has his own e-mail address. They use Outlook (well she "thinks" she does).
Anyway, he knows her password for her e-mail but he refuses to let her know what his password is.
Anyway, without wanting to get involved in a discussion on the rights and wrongs of this, she wants to know how to change her password so that he can't access her e-mails.
I've had a look of my Outlook 2000 version and can't see anything that refers to passwords.
Can anyone shed any light on what she is talking about?

Contact the email handler i.e for example change email password
the when checking email change passwaord in the box that pops up
or leave blank so she will have to enter the password each time and he wont
get access as he wouldnt know the new one..
Or they should seperate as trust is needed here...

She probably has Outlook Express which can have multiple users (identities), each with a password that controls the access to that user's emails. To change this password in OE, click File - Identities - Manage Identities. Select her identity then click Properties and the password can be changed there.0

If they are using Outlook they will have seperate profiles pointing to seperate .pst files.
Start > settings > control panel > mail. Choose her delivery folder and change the password.0 -
If it is a password that it asks you for when you run outlook and can't access anything without entering that password then it is set on her pst Personal file where all her email is stored. Just right-click on her Mailbox folder (e.g. I would right-click Mailbox - Matthew on the left pane of Outlook - you may need to click the folder name to reveal it) Select Properties -> Advanced then there is Change Password in there I believe.
If it is on Exchange then you need to get a system administrator to change it for her, but from what it sounds like it isn't.
Hope this helps

Hi there,
Just thought I'd say thanks for all your help.
It turned out that she is using e-mail direct through the tiscali website and no actual software at all.
So it was easily sorted. :j0
