Every time since Aprl when I run the advised recommended windows updates ,after they are installed I cannot get back on the internet. When I diagnose any problems, there are no connection problems. I have to run system restore to get it back to let me online.
Have run Malware etc and all looks ok

What internet security software are you running?
  • laptopcame with few months free trial of Norton,
that lapsed so I went to windows vista advanced and firewall.
    run malware too.

When I tried to allow firefox through as a secure site it said it wasnt a secure site as it didnt have "Http" before it.

    Cheers Dave x
  • I am having the same problem.

Vista Home Premium & IE 7. Trying to download the latest MS updates, excluding IE 8.

It gets to 3% downloaded and then drops internet connection.

I reboot and I can reconnect to the Web but the updates are still not downloaded.

    I have Norton.

Norton seems to be a common factor so in lesley's case I'd recommend downloading "norton removal tool" - just google for it.

Run that (it may need to run as administrator in vista) and then try again
