    Citric acid you can also buy from your pharmacy, but the cheapest place I've seen it is at my local Chinese supermarket... any Oriental supplier is worth a shot...

    I don't know what the OP uses it for, but as a vegan on the go, I often just add it to juice or a milkshake, on days when my diet is a bit "iffy" nutrition wise - calcium supplements seem to be the biggest tablets you can get, and I just can't swallow them. It's recommended by the Vegan Society that you take a small amount with each meal, which I don't do, and probably should.

    I've also seen it in some recipes, which I've never tried, and also, I think in home brewing?

    sure you can ask what it is for !! it is for my dog, she has been put on a special diet, due to trouble with her kidneys, the vet gave me some recipes for home cooked meals for her, and they all contain calcium carbonate.

    BUt i did manage to get hold of some, from my local chemist they ordered it in for me, so thanks for all the advice

    cooked her first meal tonight popped it in, and she eat every bit
