No claims bonus
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had any problems proving their no claims bonus. I haven't claimed/had a claim against me since I took out insurance in my own name in 1995 (14 years) and yet some insurance companies have been recording my no claims as "5 or more" and have no further record. Now that I need to prove 9 to get over £100 off this insurance I'd have to search for evidence and thankfully due to some drawers in a serious need of a tidy out I have finally found a "5 or more" insurance policy schedule old enough which means I must have had 9 or more combined with later policies. Surely it shouldn't be so hard to prove your no claims simply because the insurers reset it to 5 each year if that is their maximum? Privilege haven't even been showing it on the renewal documents and have been particularly useless at producing a correct no claims letter.
And what's on this central database where the insurers share information? It doesn't seem to relate claims so what is its purpose?
