Have you done your ordering yet?
One camping mat (in a lovely bright red!) now ordered. I've also finally remembered to order my contact lenses (via Quidco) as I've only got about 2 pairs left! Hopefully the postal problems won't delay them too much and they will be here ahead of me heading off to Poland next weekend. Both those items came out of the credit on my card thanks to the insurance refunds I had - there was still a little of the More Than one in there and then the Diamond one has gone in as well! The lenses were £38 (which will last me a while - last order I did was May apparently!) and the mat was £25 but both planned spends.
Went to the farmers market this morning and were fairly restrained.....the fish stall had a special offer on fishcakes - 4 for £1 so we got three lots of those, also a pack of sausages (2 meals for the pair of us) two packs of bacon and a couple of packs of mince which will need to be portioned out and/or cooked with tomorrow. Made soup for lunch half of which has been eaten the other half frozen. "cost" on that was one onion, one red pepper, and some mushrooms, plus a couple of handfuls of red lentils and a tin of sweetcorn as the chicken content, and the stock came from last weeks Sunday roast.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You were very restrained at the farmers market. I love them and if i ever get near one with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall selling stuff, well i reckon i may need a second loan:o:o
Did you see Elantan's thread recently? She and Hubby have just spent a bit of time in Poland and gave us a blow by blow tour- very good and showed us how to get the best deals there.:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Thanks for the tip off about Elantans thread - I've been for a read! We're only there for a weekend - going over for the final speedway Grand Prix of the season, but hope to see a bit of Bydgoszcz on the Saturday morning and Sunday before we fly back. WOrked out earlier on that I have slightly misjudged the amount of cash I will have with me so may have to pay part of the hotel bill on the Nationwide debit card or abbey Zero CC. Thanks Martin for ensuring I know that both those cards can safely be used charge-free abroad! :money:
I do still have to check with bag I need to look at taking to fit with Ryanair's restrictions and still fit everything I want to take....I have a small rucksack which might fit the bill, and will hopefully allow me to fit a small camera bag into it too......
Right - speedway photos all processed from Thursday night and emailed off to the Programme editor...I'm off to bed!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Please, whatever you do, don't assume Bydgoszcz is like the rest of Poland...it's an awful placeFrom Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Nice productive and cheap day today. The cowboy contractors who are doing the works on the flats decided on Thursday to come onto our balcony (over the wall - the gate is kept locked...yes, we're ground floor but have a balcony - it's a strange idea but it works!) so effectively trespassing on our property, clear off all the stuff on said balcony onto the grass outside and then jetwash off the balcony prior to repainting. That will be the repainting that we were told they weren't going to do, then. MrEH got home to find a soaked front room carpet - the water must have been pouring in and we've since found out that pretty much everyone else had the same problem. Oh, and all the stuff from the balcony just left outside all piled up. The balcony, garden etc was all covered in little bits of the loose paint that they have blasted off, which may or may not contain lead. We have no way of finding out. A letter of compaint has been sent..... Anyway, this morning was spent clearing everything off the balcony again, including the deck tiles which were all covered in paint, sweeping the whole thing down before replacing everything. Had a good old clear up at the same time mind so we're a bit less cluttered than we were. A note is going into the window tomorrow morning in clear lettering informing them that coming onto the balcony without permission is trespass and will be treated as such, and that they do NOT have our permission. I'm now photographing everything so we have a record of all the problems.
Other than that, we have defrosted both freezers, cleaned the bathroom, made a big pot of bolognese sauce for freezing and Mr EH has hoovered too. He's now watching the snooker so will probably have a late night - I'm heading off to bed now I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

OMG I would be livid - slightly different as we're in a house but if I looked out to find a load of strange workmen on my back yard I'd be furious, let alone leaving it a mess. Poss lead paint too - that is terrible. Letter def a good idea.Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Quick update as I'm off to the airport for Poland in about half an hour. Very excited now! Almost as much about seeing a new country as the speedway itself! :j Very cold in Poland now mind - sleet and snow, although forecast had it (hopefully) dry for tomorrow - please keep fingers crossed on that one for me! Temps tomorrow not much about zero so extra fleece, scarf and gloves in my luggage!
Payday was yesterday so the transfer should go from the joint account into my account tomorrow I think....nope, just checked and it went today so hurrah for that! On the negative side my expenses haven't gone in so I need to chase that on Monday. I am going to be slightly overdrawn this month - about £18 but only for a few days so the charges should be tiny. I hope! Bill arrived today for one CC - the other is still in credit thanks to More (Less) Than and Diamond putting the owed refunds through. The one today was initially a little more than I thought until I realised that a little over £80 of it is to come back from MrEH so that's good. A job for next week is to work through the joint account to see how that's looking. Also to contact Virgin Media who keep extracting money from my account on random dates and with no notice whatsoever.....!:rolleyes: They manage to send me plenty junkmail through on the email so why they can;t send the bills, lord knows!
