webcam and skype help needed

I have just bought a logitech webcam to use for skype

I managed to install everything ok

but when I use skype to talk to family in USA ,I can see them fine and they are moving about etc

but this end freeze after I have been on skype for a couple of minutes and I have to switch of video and then switch on again ,it then freeze's again:confused:

I do not know much about computers or webcams so hope someone can tell me what's wrong

    I would think it's more likely to be a problem with your internet connection rather than your webcam.

    Are you doing anything else when you're talking on Skype? Anyone else using the internet at the same time?

    It does sound like a connection problem.

    Have you tried using another software to test - i.e. Windows Live Messenger?

    I am with Tiscali maybe the connection problem is to do with them

    Nps.

    Try chatting to your family using MSN messenger or Yahoo messenger (or equivelant).

    If this goes ok, then it would rule out the connection idea and narrow down the options!

  • Another thing you may want to try (providing it isn't the internet connection - would be making sure that you have the latest version of Skype / Drivers for your webcam.
    If we build it, they will come.
