Urgent DMP query really need advice please

Hello

I have had some real problems this month with money mainly an unexpected gas bill which was huge and my ex refused to pay his half of the money, also a very expensive phone bill £165, which was due to making lots of necessary calls, when i was moving house and escaping an abusive relationship.
Anyway all this has meant that i dont have any of my £296 dmp payment which is due on the 10th April. I would be able to take the money out of my next salary which is due in on the 15th. (Although this means budgeting for two dmp payments in a month which i would do and just not eat to be honest as i feel so bad about things)

Do you think cccs will let me make a late payment on the 15th? They seem to be quite specific about payment dates. Also i am scared of the direct debit coming out and no money being there - shall i cancel it? i am on a step account with no overdraft facility and am worried theyll throw me off the bank account.

Ive asked for an advance on my wages and been refused. I guess the only other option if cccs wont take a late payment, is to look into one of those payday loans?

I suffer from depression and self harm and this is really upsetting me, i know its my own fault for not budgeting properly but those bills were unexpected and i was so worried about things.

Please help

Please ring CCCS immediately. Yes, they will sort it out, they certainly have for people who have had things like major car repairs that could not be expected. I know that CCCS staffers have posted responses to OPS and that those people have come back to report that it is all OK.

They are unlikely to want two payments though.

Due to the time-scale for your DD, I would amend the DD for this May asap, ONLY to the amount of £1.00 per creditor, this will stop you going O/D then inform CCCS.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

i can maybe scrape £50 pounds together for the DD. then pay the rest on 15th May - should i do that?

I can make two dmps in a month it will be punishment for me for not managing my money properly. Im honestly not going to eat as much and walk to work etc its what i deserve ive been so stupid to run the debt up in the first place. i feel so bad about it and it gets me so down feel like ive ruined my life with this debt im so upset.

YOu must ring CCCS in the morning. What they did for another OP was just extend the period of the payments by one month.

Oh Suzie, please don't beat yourself up over this! You've been given some good advice, call CCCS as soon as you can and let them know what is going on. You can't not eat for a month, you'll make yourself ill. It's that old advice again - THEY CAN'T HAVE WHAT YOU HAVEN'T GOT!!!! Big hug. x x

Call CCCS. They are used to this sort of thing. They realise that we all have unexpected expenses that we have not budgeted for. The chances are, they will suggest you make a token payment for this month and resume as normal next month. Cancel your DD as soon as you can.

It's often not advisable to make extra payments to creditors one month and not another otherwise they may expect extra payments every month and think you are hiding something. Best to be honest with CCCS. As long as this is not a regular occurrence, then I'm sure CCCS will be fine - there have been others in this situation.

hello and thanks for all advice
i will ring cccs and explain tomorrow

I wouldnt be making extra payments, i would just need to take last months payment out of this months salary thats all, as ive mismanaged my money etc.

I really do not want to miss a monthly payment or make a much reduced one, because so far have not had that much hassle from creditors.
