interim payment april 09

Hi there

firstly, a massive thanks to martin and his guide to reclaiming bank charges.
I applied to clydesdale bank around 7 months ago to reclaim around £5000 of bank charges.
i also sent them several letters claiming hardship.
i spoke to an adviser on friday who advised that my case manager at the bank had decided to award me with an interim payment of £842. I asked how they managed to calculate this sum and the adviser could not give me a reason but did advise that i could not contest this - can anyone tell me if this is correct? I am happy to be getting some money back but this will not make a huge difference to my current finances

Many thanks L

The interim payment is not a full and final settlement of your claim. Does the £842 cover the priority debt arrears?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
