    I have one of those with £3 in but it earns no intrest at all

    It's not desparate - it's your money! Yep, me with my Nationwide passbook last touched 13 years ago and £5.52 (without the interest) - going in to the branch with all the relevant paperwork on Saturday morning. If I get a tenner, then it's £10 more off the debt!

  • Hi everyone,

    I got my post office National Saving and Investments cheque this morning - a fabulous £1.40! Oh well - better than a kick in the teeth!

    Got another with the Halifax with £1 in it, not been touched since 1997 - next to chase and bank a large cheque (not)!

    I got another £1.73 from closing an old savings account at my bank. It might be tiny, but I see it as paying a day's worth of interest on my 5.5% LOB card (with 20p to spare :rotfl: )

    I cashed my Leeds Perm account in last month - got 5.23 in interest!

    Spent it on a bottle of wine as a treat!
