I'm a fool!

Hello all,
yes, I am a fool. Instead of claiming my credit card charges myself I went and used Conkers. I got a tidy some around christmas and didn't bother chacking they'd taken thier share. They didn't and now I'm stuck with a bill for a few hundred quid that I can't pay straight away. I've just looked through all my paperwork and found the invoice from Franklin Brunel and it does say they want the money immediately. That was Dec.
I have every intention of paying it but I can't pay it in one go. When I rang them, a stern woman was asking for ammounts out of my range.
I'm getting very worried and wondered if anyone had any advice?
I've got to get this sorted and feel like a right plonker for using them in the first place. Cheers,

You should be worried. Claims companies have proven to be very aggressive in obtaining their money and will go to the small claims court to get it if they feel you are not going to pay or are making excuses.
I would suggest you agree a payment schedule with them. If you are making an effort and propose a payment schedule over 6-12 months they cant really go to small claims court on that and hope for anything better.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

You certainly do have need to worry. Obviously you did not learn your lesson from the credit card companys by going outside their terms and conditions but you are now screwing around with the company that managed to get the so called unfair charges back.
You are behaving as though you are the victim but in this case the other party is.0 -
Your best course here is to write to them making a pay plan offer to them. asking also that they deal with you via letter keep copys of them all for yourself aswel. So if they do try going down the court side of things you can prove what offers you have mead to them. Where with phone calls you cant do that.09 Wins= 5 Rugby balls, 3 Football.
