Doesn't want to pay by paypal

Hi Everyone

I sold an item the week before last and have had no contact from the buyer so have opened a non paying buyer dispute.

I have now had an email from the buyer, a few days before the dispute is closing saying they dont want to pay with paypal so either will pay by postal order or wants to cancel. On item it clearly said paypal only.

If i mutually agree to cancel I will still end up with final value fees right?
Also I know this must sound really stupid but whats a postal order and is this a good way for payment?

Thanks in Advance

To be honest, this is no time for a mutual - you want them to pay, they want to pay by a method you don't accept... there's nothing mutual really.

That said, I would accept a postal order - no fees, no bouncing... but make sure it's a genuine one (although it's pretty unlikely to be fake). If it's a crossed P/O you'll have to pay it in at the bank, like a cheque, or post office if you bank with certain banks.

I suggest you just take the postal order- its better than not getting paid, eh? and you don't have to pay outrageous fees- the buyer pays them for you!

Yep, most likely it will not be crossed so just take it into the post office and they will give you cash to the amount on the postal order.

I once got a buyer like yours, but thought Id try out accepting a postal order, I found it very quick and easy and now they are always one of my payment options.

Umm not sure on that one. Soolin or Custardy should come along soon and be able to answer it.

Wait until you receive payment, do not close the dispute before. what if you close the dispute now and the buyer never pays you wont get your fvf.

I would wait and see if thepostal order ever arrives

Yeah, what they said. Always wait til the money is safe with you, then close the dispute. Paypal is sucky anyway!
