Out of stock items

Hi I hope someone can advise me, I want to start restocking my ebay shop, I have alot of items ready to go on, what I want to know is, I want to put them as "unlimited" as I get my items direct from the wholesaler and the items have good stock levels and the same items are replenished regularly
What happens if something goes out of stock before I get a chance to take it off ebay, can I put a little note on my homepage explaing that this may sometimes happen and a full refund will be given or alternative??
Iv seen some shops with thousands of items in their shop, do they actually have those to hand do u think?
thanks in advance
Kelly

As you are dropshipping you need to declare this up front as there are buyers who would prefer not to deal with you due to this 'stock' issue.
You can't have unlimited amounts even in a shop, you can though with the new fee structure just keep adding items in to the auction even after sales have been made.So fo rinstance if you feel the stock is never ending then put up 1000 lots, but you must be able to fulfil those sales, you can't have any sort of get out clause.
If you make a sale and can't fulfil it then buyer can do a non performing seller complaint on you and also leave you a neg, and many will unfortunately, it is one of the perils of drop shipping.
Remember though as a business seller to make sure you have your name and address somewhere on the auction or the 'me ' page for returns or you can show it in the returns box if you prefer as buyers will be able to return for a full refund .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have never come across a wholesaler whos stocks are at 100% all the time and often they can take a while to replenish. If a line goes well youll soon get other sellers buying up the stock and if the wholesaler is not expecting extra sales they can soon run out. This has happend to me on a couple of occasions (infact every time something sells well).
Most buyers will want the goods sending as soon as they buy and expect delivery in a couple of days.0
