Intelligent Finance & Mp3players.co.uk

A warning and a cry for help at the same time

I ordered a Sammy tv from MP3Players.co.uk back in Jan, then because they didn't have any stock I cancelled the order 2 weeks later. They took the money from my credit card when I ordered and I have emails confirming both the order and the cancellation, BUT they have not refunded my money.

I had difficulty getting through to the company so I contacted my credit card company, Intelligent Finance. They have come back to me saying they need a "refund voucher" before they can pursue them. The email I have from mp3players confirms cancellation but no refund amount is stated on it. So my credit card company have told me to pursue the company myself and they are unable to help from a letter I received from Intelligent Finance this morning

I then visit mp3players.co.uk website this morning and they have ceased trading/gone into liquidation.

Surely my credit card company Intelligent Finance should take care of this matter, thats why I use them.

Can anybody offer any advice please.

Yes, IF is liable. You paid for something using a credit card and did not receive the goods, and now the company has gone into liquidation. If the amount was more than 100 pounds then IF must refund it (consumer credit act). If the amount was smaller, then under these circumstances IF certainly should refund it.
