Canon MP620 owners - ink

Hi all,

Just got through my 2nd set of carts after not a great deal of printing, is it just me or do they keep getting smaller and smaller?

Anyway .. looking at 3rd party ink and some good deals out there but reading that for the really cheap ones I need to remove the chip from the original and put it onto the new cartridge - anyone here do this? Is it as easy as it sounds?

Cheers,
Foolish

No, it's not just you. Several reviewers criticised the MP620 when it was introduced because the ink tanks are smaller than those in the previous model. Given that the printer is almost exactly the same size, there's only one reason - Canon is getting greedy and wants to sell more cartridges at the same (IMO extortionate) price.

Changing the chip from old to new is fiddly but not hard to do. However, unless you get a chip resetter, the ink level monitoring will not work on the replacement cartridges.
