Jane, i cancelled my Content insurance and life insurance as it was too expensive for me to pay out each month. Your water rates seem high, i pay £3.40 per week on a budget card. phone your water company up and ask if you can pay by budget card instead, you should only have to pay around £3 a week. Your home phone seems a lot as well, i pay £11 a month with BT. Try to cut down on your food budget as well. Scrap your dvd rentals, some librarys let you rent them out cheaper then rental shops. You should be able to get your councelling free through your GP, it's worth asking him/her. Do you really need your car?

Have you seen this site, quite a few free trials, you do have to be quite organised about when the dvds need returning before they start charging you ,but as long as you read all the info,it might be worth doing.

Regarding the DVD rentals. I have been using ebay for DVD 'rentals'. Buy the DVD quite cheaply, watch it a couple of times and then sell it back usually for as much or more than you bought it for. Then if you get one you really like you can keep it. I also do the same with books.
