just had this quote for part rewire of my 3 bed terrace - sparky advised that socket circuits needed rewiring but lighting one was only done 10 years ago:
- install 2 new socket circuits to upstairs and downstairs
- install new kitchen circuit
- keep existing lighting circuit, but replace all switches and pendants
- alter bedroom lights from 2 in room to one central pendant (2 rooms)
- same as above for bathroom
- supply and fit dual RCD split load distribution board
- divert existing shower supply to use as cooker supply
- install 20 new double sockets throughout house
- plaster patch areas chopped out in walls
been quoted £985 - seem ok?
Thanks

A general rule of thumb is £400 for new dis board and test and £50 per socket, so sounds like a good price.0

I'm a an NHBC registered builder and I think the price is more than fair. I note he's even making good the chases in the wall.

2 Days work - maximum - if you feel happy paying £500 a day go for it. £2500 a week for pretty damn basic electrical work.
Glad the others think this is "decent" for 2 days work LOL0 -

I guess you may not find it so interesting when you realise I have been a builder for 27 years and enjoy helping people out and advising against cowboys? Like you??....:T0 -

ahhh, so he's a builder, not a sparks! More than 2 days work here, and a good price I think...
